| Birthdate: | May 10 |
| Location: | Boston, Massachusetts, United States |
Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Eirena "Randy" Hughes is the eldest child of four, two of the siblings being half siblings when her parents divorced. She had a happy childhood despite the divorce, which happened when she was six, for her parents had an amicable relationship that continued until her mothers murder when Randy was 21.
Her mother didn't live to see Randy graduate from pre-med, and shortly before Randy was going to enter her masters program, 9/11 inspired her to take her talents to the military. She ended up finishing her medical studies in the Navy, stationed at a Navy Medical Clinic in London, specializing in Emergency Medicine. She spent a short time in Washington, a member of the USNS Comfort before deployment to Iraq. She wasn't there very long, wounded in action when a medical transport was caught in the crossfire of a battle. She was captured for a few days, released thanks to the fact that she was a doctor, not a soldier. However, the event left her claustrophobic, distrustful of men, and favoring her wound around the wintertime.
Honorably discharged, Randy returned home to Boston, creating a private practice where she serves as a medical consultant for legal practices. As a consultant, she's gained a reputation for her honesty and reliability, refusing to take the job if it requires her to lie.
She can be selective about her consulting work because she makes her living from her writing, having penned several fairly successful books under a nom de plume, knowing that they would be nowhere as successful if the public knew a woman wrote them. It had always been a passion, one that resurfaced when she could only lay in the bed and stare at the walls.
Her life has become a bit routine, and that's quite alright by her.
